Why is O-Studio Christchurch moving?

We’re relocating to a brand-new, purpose-built facility on Cashel Street, just a 500-metre walk from our current studio. This move allows us to significantly upgrade the wellness experience for our community and build something that will serve you better long term.

What will be different at the new location?

Almost everything - in the best way possible. The new studio has been thoughtfully designed to offer:

• Two large communal saunas and hot & cold plunge spaces

• Guided sauna protocols, with different heat stages and cold immersions tailored to your goals, age, and recovery needs

• Two cold plunge temperatures and a new hot plunge option

• More private infrared sauna and ice bath rooms

• A larger recovery lounge with improved layout and tools

• Couples massage rooms

• Larger float therapy cabins

• A better layout for flow, calmness, and client comfort
  

Is there parking at the new site?

Yes! There are dedicated O-Studio parking for members in the building next door and ample parking nearby, something we know has been sorely missed at our current site. Easy access was a big part of this move.

What else is nearby?

It’s a prime location - you’ll be within walking distance of:

• Les Mills (right across the road)

• The brand-new stadium

• Great local cafés and healthy eateries

• The upcoming Downtown development, a major new lifestyle precinct

Will you still offer yoga, pilates, or meditation?

Not onsite - but we’re not stepping away from these practices. Instead, we’re shifting to offer them in new ways that better align with our model, including:

• Outdoor movement sessions seasonally

• On-demand sessions and resources you can use to practice at home

• Workshops, pop-ups, and nature-based courses

These practices remain an important part of what we believe in - we’re just evolving the format.

What’s happening to the current yoga, pilates, and meditation teachers?

We are excited to announce that a new yoga & pilates business will be taking over our current site, where you’ll see many familiar faces. Although O-Studio is not apart of this we’re excited for Kula to take over this space.

Why aren’t they offered in-studio anymore?

After six years, we’ve seen that onsite classes don’t stack up commercially, even though the value is clear. By moving away from a permanent in-studio class model, we can remain sustainable and refocus on the core strengths of the studio.

So, will there be no routine schedule of yoga, pilates, or meditation classes anymore?

That’s right. While we know these practices are important, O-Studio won’t be offering a fixed class timetable in the new location. Although we will no longer be offering classes, a new yoga & pilates studio will be taking over our current space and opening in the New Year.

What happens to my current membership or service pack?

All memberships and packs tied to the current studio will expire when we close for Christmas break on December 22nd. We encourage everyone to make the most of their sessions before then. The current studio will not be reopening in the new year. The new studio will open at the start of February.

What about gift cards?

All custom gift cards are redeemable at the new studio location once it opens in Early Feburary.

Will there be new foundation memberships?

Yes - and they’ll be strictly limited. If you were a member of O-Studio Christchurch in December, you should have already received priority access and pricing.

Will prices increase?

There will be some updates to reflect the upgraded offering. That said, we’re committed to keeping pricing accessible, so more people can benefit from our services. Flexible options will remain available.

Will the same team be at the new studio?

Most of your favourite faces will be moving with us! We’re also welcoming a few fantastic new team members to support the expanded offerings.

Will the vibe still feel like O-Studio?

Absolutely. It will feel like an upgraded version of everything you already love - same calm, same values, just with better spaces and flow.

Who is the new owner?

Lauren Humphreys is taking over ownership of the Christchurch studio. She’s a passionate leader with a strong passion for wellness and a deep commitment to continuing the O-Studio legacy. Meet her here!

Will Tim still be involved?

Yes - Tim will continue to lead O-Studio at a national level, focusing on supporting all studios through franchising. He’ll still be around, just not as the local owner.

When is the move happening?

The new O-Studio Christchurch site on Cashel Street will open on February 2nd.
Grand Open Day February 14th 1-3pm.
